TEXT: Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
1 Timothy 3:9
A man can be greatly bestowed with gifts and still be of no profit to men and to God owing to character deficiency. This is because a man can destroy what took him years of hard work to build by reason of an untamed character.
One pivotal element required in the operation of faith is that which is called a good conscience. Not an evil or a wicked conscience, not a weak conscience, certainly not a dead conscience.
A Good Conscience!
Selfishness, taking advantage of another, purposefully intimidating another and arrogance are all evidences against a good conscience. This is because faith works by love (Galatians 5:6), and love would approve none of these.
A good conscience is born out of love. Consider a good conscience as the steering wheel of faith. When a man looses his steering wheel on the road, he is bound to crash.
1 Timothy 1:19 says,
Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:
Let love rule your desires.
Hold on to a good conscience.
Cruise faith safely!
Jesus is Lord!
